That said, out of all the new items and mechanics introduced in Aquarius, perhaps the Lost Angler's Rig will help you the most in your fishing ventures in space. You will have a limited time to get it as Expedition Aquarius will be live for two months, so you better start completing those milestones and catching those uncommon and rare fish. How to Get Lost Angler's Rig in No Man's Sky
Getting the Lost Angler's Rig, which is described as a legendary piece of angling equipment used by Lost Angler, will require you to complete Phase 4 of the Aquarius Expedition in No Man's Sky. As you can imagine, you won't be getting this milestone as fast as you were planning, since Phases 1 to 3 will also have you complete several fishing-related tasks. Overall, the objectives for each Phase's milestones are pretty straightforward, so check out Phase 4's milestones below:
Milestone | Description | Reward |
---|---|---|
Gone Fishing: 4 | Reach the fourth angling destination. |
|
Call of the Water | Land a message from the Angler |
|
In Hot Water | Land 7 uncommon high-temperature fish. |
|
Night Fishing | Catch 3 nocturnal fish. |
|
Pearls of Wisdom | Harvest 15 Living Pearls. |
|
The Lunker | Land 3 enormous fish. |
|
Wading in Again | Land 100 fish |
|
Out of all the milestones above, In Hot Water, Night Fishing, and Pearls of Wisdom will probably be the most challenging. To get high-temperature fish in No Man's Sky, travel to planets that are labeled as Scorched or Volcanic. Nocturnal fish can be found anywhere as long as you fish them during the night. Finally, Living Pearls are inside clam shells that you can find in deep water as long as you wait for them to open. Finally, The Lunker milestone will probably see you fish for a while since it is RNG-dependent, so take that into account.
How to Craft Lost Angler's Rig in No Man's Sky
Once you complete all Phase 4 milestones, you will unlock the plans to build the Lost Angler's Rig. Building it is not as difficult as getting the plans themselves, so be sure to get the following materials in No Man's Sky beforehand:
- 2x Hydraulic Wiring: Purchase the blueprint for 250 Nanites from the Synthesis Laboratory, inside Manufacturing Facilities, and Operations Centres. You can then build it with the following ingredients:
- 2x Carbon Nanotubes + 20x Salt + 40x Di-hydrogen.
- 60x Salt: You can find it as a secondary element in some minerals, as a primary element in underwater minerals, and inside Resource Deposits. Alternatively, you can refine it by following these recipes:
- x1 Chlorine.
- x1 Di-hydrogen + 1x Oxygen.
- 90x Silver: Found inside caves and collected from minerals, in asteroids, and inside Resource Deposits. You can also refine Silver by following these recipes:
- x1 Aronium
- x1 Heroz
- 1x Dirty Bronze
While getting the Lost Angler's Rig will be a major accomplishment, you will still have to complete Phase 5 if you wish to finish the Expedition. Make use of this legendary rig across its many milestones, especially during the Scales of Fire encrypted milestone that will test your patience and your fishing skills.
