Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) suffered a defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Qualifier 1 and Rajasthan Royals (RR) beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Eliminator. SRH and RR will now square off in Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 This game will take place on Friday at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

After losing four games on the trot, RR finally registered a win. To end their losing streak, RR had to end RCB’s six-match winning streak. Meanwhile, SRH will feel confident about beating RR, as they have already done it once this season. The winners of this game will enter the final, where KKR have sealed one spot.

1. Travis Head vs Trent Boult

Travis Head will be a massive wicket for RR, as he can destroy any bowling attack if he gets going. One thing is certain: he won’t hold back and will attack all guns blazing, even though he is coming off two consecutive ducks.

Both times it was a left-arm pacer who dismissed him. RR have Trent Boult, who possesses an elite new-ball skill-set, to take down Head. This will be a big match-up in the SRH vs RR clash and it could decide which way the match will head.

2. Abhishek Sharma vs Avesh Khan

Abhishek Sharma is another SRH batter who is unstoppable once he gets set. His aggressive style of batting has earned him a lot of success and plaudits this season. He will look to carry on in similar fashion in Qualifier 2.

He is, though, yet to crack the code against Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The RR captain has scored only 118 runs off 92 balls against Bhuvneshwar, managing a strike rate of 128.3 and playing 40 dot balls. The senior SRH pacer has dismissed Samson four times.

4. Riyan Parag vs Pat Cummins

Riyan Parag has been the best batter for Rajasthan Royals this season. Earlier, he scored 77 runs against SRH when these two teams met in the league phase. Parag has grown leaps and bounds this season and taken responsibility to score at crucial times.

His performance with the bat will be crucial for RR and his team will hope that he can carry on his superb touch. But, he will face Pat Cummins in the middle overs. Cummins has dismissed Parag twice in 13 balls in the IPL.

5. Heinrich Klaasen vs Ravi Ashwin

Heinrich Klaasen has gotten some starts in the last few games but has not been able to convert them into big scores. This may be on his mind and he would look to play an impactful innings in this important fixture.

With his timing and power, Klaasen is someone who can take the pitch out of the equation. He is one of the best six hitters against spinners, but Ravi Ashwin could pose a strong challenge for the South African. Ashwin knows the conditions in Chennai better than perhaps anyone in the two teams and is coming off a match-winning performance against RCB.
