How is wins above bubble calculated? ›

Wins Above Bubble (WAB): The difference in the number of wins a team has compared to the expected number of wins an average "bubble" team would earn against a given teams' schedule.

Both rating functions return current and projected team records, barthag – the projected win percentage against an average team on a neutral court – and adjusted offensive and defensive efficiencies + tempo. Rating functions: bart_ratings.

T-Rank™ is a distance in a multidimensional metric space. The dimensions and weights in this metric space are chosen by an Artificial Intelligence system that can learn the characteristics that predict a high-quality translation from past human choices and previous translation jobs.

One good player metric is Bart Torvik's PORPAGATU! (Points Over Replacement Per Adjusted Game At That Usage). It's a lengthy acronym that measures a player's per-minute effectiveness.

WAA, which stands for Wins Above Average, is a statistical measure that defines a player's worth in terms of his contribution as compared to the average major league player. WAA is strongly correlated to team performance, that is the sum of WAA by all of a team's players will almost always represent its final record.

How is WPA Calculated? WPA is based on changes in win expectancy. The difference in win expectancy from the start of a plate appearance to the end is going to account for the WPA for that plate appearance (for both pitcher and batter).

However, with LP gains for the top four, there are LP losses for the bottom four that also scale meaning that a player might receive 50 LP for a first place but also might lose 50 LP for an eighth place. The only constant is that getting fourth place will always reward at least 10 LP.

Upon reaching Master rank, LP scales infinitely. Players in Masters and above compete for a numerical rank, with Grandmaster and Challenger designations based on specific LP thresholds. The top 250 players secure a spot in Challenger, while the next 500 are placed in Grandmaster.
